I am not a smoker, but since Cubans are available here, I figured why not. Tried a Partagus, Romeo and Julieta No. 2, and Cohiba #2. Had several of each and loved them.
I am a cigar smoker and lover! Tried the R&J no 2 and liked it. In general, though, the Cubans are a bit too long too much for me. Like mine to last a little less longer. Ehm ... Cubans? Does that mean you are not from the States?
And when collecting, do you have an humidor to keep them well? I have a nice one, from rose wood, that didnt cost me that much!

i have all of the above in my humidor. i'm partial to arturo fuente from dominican republic. i actualy haven't smoked a cigar in a couple of years. enjoy. cob
Very envious of you Glock, I don’t know if it is a psychological thing or not, but I have never tasted anything finer than what Cuba has to offer in cigars. I’m a big Rocky Patel fan stateside, but if I can get my hands on anything that says Montecristo Habana, I’m in heaven.

Love cigars! I am a Partagas and Bolivar fan. However since I got my letter from US customs and Border Protection. I think I am going to lay off the CC's. I like Padron and Oliva V NC's

"Letter", do tell? You been doing some online ordering?

I only have a cigar when I am with my wifes cousin from Norway. We sit at an outdoor establishment and drink beer and smoke a cigar while our wives shop!

Yeah, probably not the smartest thing to do. They didn't fine me or anything just seized the cigars. Funny thing was they appraised the value of three boxes of cigars at $1500.00.

Damn man, I am sorry to hear that. I have thought about ordering them a hundred times. That is really a shame...

I am a huge cigar smoker. I smoke almost exclusively Maduro's and my favorite size is 6"'ish and 50-54 ring. I have a fair supply of ISOM's but actually prefer Hondurans and Nicaraguans. I don't spend that money on cigars and smoke mostly Consuegra and Old Fashioned's. The connie's are true seconds of Punch, Hoyo de Monterrey, Excalibur, El Rey del Mundo, and J•R Ultimate. The No. 9, 14, 16, 73 and 84 are kick-ass and very reasonable. The best supplier of Connie's are JR Cigar. The Old Fashioned brand are also a great buy and true seconds of Mac's, as well as others. The best supplier of OF's is Mike's Cigars of Miami. I try to age everything I smoke at least two years; I buy ahead and store/age in what we call "coolidors", ice chests modified into a big ole humidor. I did a stripping run this morning and smoked a nice 3 year aged ERDM; about a two hr stripping run (5 gals) and a two hr cigar. Worked out nice.
Happy herfing!
I like to keep mine around 70-72 HD and a temp of 72 ish. I feel if they go much over 73 RH the burn is effected. I make my own humidifiers; I take Tupperware container's around 8" L x 5" W and 3" H, cut a piece of dry floral foam to fit and saturate it with a mixture of 50% distilled water/50% propylene glycol. Work's great and much cheaper than buying the units and liquid from a cigar shop (I don't buy anything from cigar shops, their mark up's are outrageous).
edit: Drill a bunch of holes in top and bottom of the Tupperware container!

I live in the Southern US, but I am currently out of country.
As for a humidor, I dont really have that much on hand to keep them in a humidor. However, I store them in a small ammo can for travel. I was told to put in a moist sponge or the like to keep the enviroment a little moist, but they dont last too long around me.
By the way I bought a box of 25 Cohiba Sigilo No.2 for $211 in the last town I was at.
A travel humidor is pretty handy, they hold static around 70 RH and are also bullet proof. You can get a deep one, pictured below, that holds 12, or you can even get a smaller one.

$211 a box for Sig 2's; that's an excellent price. The UK price is over $500 US. You must be in Spain or Portugal. I'm sure you know you have to be very careful buying Cubans. 70% of Cuban cigars bought by American's are fake. Hell, 50% brought by tourists in Cuba are fake. The worst place you can buy Cubans are at popular tourist attractions like Cancun Mexico; almost all fake. The ONLY way you grantee you are getting the real deal is to buy through a official Casa del Habano or retailer authorized by them.
Yes, I am certainly aware of fakes. Actually my friend showed me some Cohibas that he bought in Iraq. They were not very consistant in size, the label on the cigar seemed to be printed off a oridinary printer, and they were thicker than any Cohibas that I even seen.
The box of Cohibas I have is made of wood, it has the heat stamp on the bottom, the 3D "Gold" metal plated labels, the tax stamp with the holographic mark, the Habanos label across the lid and side of the box, and the good ol Cuban texture and smell.
I enjoy dark cigars.... R&J Reserve Maduro is one of my favorites. I had a Camacho Triple Maduro at a bachelor party and really, REALLY enjoyed it (but then again I also drink black, unsweetened coffee too)..... but at $12 per cigar I probably won't smoke one except for special occasions....
