freezing malt

freezing malt
I am malting 50lb of corn if i dont use it all should I freeze it before its is ground or after. or can it froze at all. i want to start a sour mash whiskey with the malted corn oats and rye.what is the best way to keep it freash.other than haveing to malt 10 to 15 lb for every batch.

Don't know about freezin' malt... But wouldn't you dry it in place than freeze it? Never malted grain myself, but what I buy is dried.

Reflux : 104 cm (41 inches) column 54 mm (2 inches) diameter withh SS scrubbers packing.
Potstill : 40 cm (15 inches) column 54 mm (2 inches) diameter without packing.

I ment after it was dried. this is corn i got from a local farmer last fall just want to get it malted before it gets to old to sprout. right now it really works great.I have about 100 more lb to malt i just want to make sure it stays freash.barley is scares as hens theeth around here or i would use it for malt.shipping will rob the bank on grain.
