Christmas ideas?

OK, I am starting to put together my wish list and first on it is more fermentation vessels (I like the looks of the Demi John). Also looking to add a new metal funnel with screen. A gift certificate to the hardware store (copper, copper, and more copper). Anyone else starting to put together a wish list?

I'm liking the conical fermenter Big R got. Along with a nice big brew pot with a false bottom. Stainless funnel would be nice to fill bottles with.

Jeez, I guess my wishes are WAY out of bounds. I envision a private hobby distillery. Ceramic floor and walls. SS tables. Natural gas stove. Several Megapot mashing vessels. Oh, about 4 inductor tank fermenters in a temperature controlled fermentation room. Several copper pots with numerous pot still heads so I could specifically taylor my distillation product. An aging room with rotating barrel racks and automatic climate change for true seasonal aging. Overhead, multi-directional hoist for all the heavy lifting. Low humidity, CO2 environment room for grain storage.

As my Moma used to say, "If you're gonna dream, dream big!"

With this storm blowing in today I know its going to be a long winter. I already have a hot chick, great job, great kids and decent health. Every day I count my blessings as a damn lucky guy.

For Christmas I hope you all are blessed with the luck of the Irish. I already know you drink like your Irish. (like me),

I wish you all the best this holiday season and consider you all friends that I would welcome to my thanksgiving table.

Christmas does not mean to me what it did when I was a child. I can honestly say that I do not care about opening gifts on Christmas morning any more. To me now Christmas is just celebrating Jesus's birthday and maybe eating a fancy meal, and watching my kids get even more spoiled than they are now. I tell all my friends and family not to buy me gifts, and tell them I am not buying them gifts. I try to opt out of Christmas gift exchange except for the kids.

Ever since I became an adult, I do not have many wants, if I want something I can afford I buy it regardless of time of year. If it's something I want that I can't afford, Christmas does not change that, my wife still could not get it for me.

Shopping for Christmas gifts for me consist of the things I probably should have bought over the year, but will make do with what I have until they fall apart completly. Things I care about so little I would not buy until I absolutely have to have them. IE: Underwear, Shoes, Etc. I know my wife is going to ignore tradition this year, as we had a better than usual year money wise, and she has been asking me about things like would you you like to go do this, or would you like tickets to that, what do you think about this car, etc. trying to get an idea of what I want.

The absolute truth is, if I want it and we have enough $$ for it, I would have bought it already. When I want anything, and there are the funds for it, I don't waste time in picking it up.

Not exactly the "what do you buy for the man who has everything" more of a "what do you buy for the man who is happy with what he gets himself"

Neat advice! very motivational. My mom used to say: "wish in one hand and sh!t in the other- then see which hand gets full, first."
But, I would LOVE a soxhlet extraction set-up for Christmas! (just gotta figure out the laws for laboratory glassware in Germany!)
