Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

HD forums search functions

Post by astronomical »

Is there a feature to click on "Views" or "replies" within a subforum so I can see the most popular and talked about topics. If not, I think it would be an excellent feature. This is a rather common feature in many forums. Maybe I'm just not seeing how to do it. Just to clarify, the feature would sort from most to least replies and/or views.

I use the subsilver 2 skin, which is different than the default prosilver, so I will explain what I see.

Click on any forum. At the bottom, there is a pull down menu, which allow sorting. One of the sort selection is 'views', another is 'replies'. The default is 'post time'

I am sure prosilver is similar.

Edit, just switched to pro-silver, and it is setup the same way. At the bottom of any forum listing, is a pull down box that allows changing the order criteria.

I have a link to View active topics right in my browsers bookmark toolbar... When reading topics I use the Back button to get back to the list... After I make a post in a topic I click on the link for an updated list... That works best for me in most forums, but I generally read every post in all of the forums I am an active member in...

Thanks rad, it's not what I'm accustomed to (as far as location), but, its exactly what I was looking for. I feel foolish now for not having seen it. Anyhow, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Now I can find REALLY long threads to read front to back.. Yay :P

thx again,
