How long can mash wait.

Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

How long can mash wait.

Post by getnstarted »

My mash just finished today but don't have time to run it. Should I leave it in the fermenter or siphon it into another container. How long can it wait to run. Thanks for all the info and help.

If it is under air lock, it can sit a while. However, it IS good to rack it off of the yeast, and into a clean fermenter (again, under air lock). This will allow the wash to clear more, and does help obtain better end results.

To add, make sure and fill the carboy to the base of the neck.
