Heat source
Im using a 20qt pot still. I have an outdoor propane turkey fryer burner. But I'm interested in the electric burners or hot plates. But not the heat up time. What's a good hot plate for a good price.

Plenty of hot plates out there. What you gotta remember is most will require modification to get them not to cycle the heat. If you have the means, I would look into an internal element / controller. You could go 110v with that small of a setup. Internal element will help alot with heat up time as well.

Re: Heat source
Most hardware stores carry various 110 & 220 hotwater heaters. If you want to go this route like Mulekicker suggests, rather than spending the money on ferrules and tri-clamps as a connector I used a $2.48 1/2 coupling from Paramount Supply, it was way cheaper and works great.

Re: Heat source
yes ,but the water heater elements are a flange,or 1 in straight pipe thread. many use tapered pipe coupler and fiend it works ok.

Re: Heat source
If you are doing unfiltered washes you really want to make sure you get an Low watt density or Ultra Low Watt Density Element so it won't scorch. The actual wattage does not matter as much
