potstill questions

Post by always_late »

right now i have a boka still with 44" of packed column and i want to use that as the vertical arm for a pot still and use a liebig arm as a condenser i just have a few questions about the dimensions. I am using a 50,000 btu propane burner to heat a 15.5 gal standard us keg.

1. what diameter should the inner tube of the liebig be and how long should it be.

2. is a 44" long vertical column too long

3. is the taper from 2" diameter tubbing to the diameter of the inner liebig tube important or can it be an abrupt taper

thanks.
