Boiler Takeoff Location

Boiler Takeoff Location

I am Fabricating a boiler from a 30 gallon SS tank. The top is about 24" in diameter and is flat. I plan to weld a 4" SS ferrule to the top and attach a 4" plated column to it. Does the 4" SS ferrule need to be located in the center (as most I've seen here) or can it be offset to balance the weight a bit? I am wondering about performance issues if any????
