Pelinkovac Recipe?

Post by Junior69 »

Try as hard as I might I just can't seem to find one. I can't even find a list of herbs used. At this point all I know is there seems to be a hefty amount of wormwood in it. Just hoping someone here may be able to help me.

I heard about it, but never drank despite it have some popularity in our neighbor country. The only close thing was some "vin pelin" from here,
but I wasn't so excited about the taste - it is wine with wormwood leaves. The quantity of wormwood is small because the leaves are VERY
bitter, so, in case you try to make the liqueur use some neutral spirit, sugar and a few wormwood leaves.

I do not have a recipe but have tasted it and it is obviously made with a lot of different herbs so if you can find a good recipe for absinthe or Jagermeister I would start there. It's most obvious herb is wormwood with hints of anise and cinnamon I also detected a slight mint and cherry taste. It comes across a bit bitter and in my estimation is an aquired taste. I believe it is probably fermented using brown sugar. These are guesses but I think with enough background in distilling and experimenting you may even come up with a drink you like better!

BM is spot on: somewhere in between wormwood and Jäger...

It is really close to jager with a strong wormwood presence as well as a taste that I can only describe as pine needles. Just looking for some semblance of a recipe. Thanks for the input guys.
