Copper Bandit has hit me

Post by Castro82 »

Its a sad day after coming home from a 2 week vacation i went to take a shower and i discoverd no water. After i went to see what the problem was I discovered that my home had been broken into the theives took all the copper water pipes and my still colum keg boiler and anything else they could take to scap yard so i think im out of the distilling for a while because all my time will be spent fixing my pluming and trying to find the bastards that took it I guess its a newstart maybe a nice boka or something. Has anyone else had this issue

Sorry about your bad luck. Just think though of all the practice soldering you'll get in for your new still.

I feel for you. Might be nice to find the bastards even if it's not likely to be profitable. Good luck.

Thats pretty ballsy of em to spend time tearing out all your copper like that. They had no idea when you were gonna be commin home, I can see it in an abandoned house, or under construction, but a livedin house like that..pretty bold.

Did they get ahold of you likker stash too???

Sory to hear this. This crap is getting old. People around here have to put cages around their AC units. They will take them while they are running. Had a friend that his dad passed away. The house was empty for a short period. They went in stole all the copper pipes. Ripped the walls out to steal the copper electrical wires.

We have a scrap yard that has been on the news many times. About him buying stolen metal. He sat there on camera and said. I don't buy stolen metal. When there was a pile of man hole covers behind him that said property of Kansas City MO. All his copper goes right in the crusher. So it can't be recognized. He's a crook. And a complete ass. I've had to work on his forklifts. I Wong go back over there.

My new to me house sat vacant for I'm being told 6 years now. Gutters were off the house and on the back porch. Set here like that for 6 years. The day after we had a dumpster dropped off. The sctappers thought everything in the yard was fair game. Took the damn gutters a BarBQ grill. And any other metal they could find. I think I know who did it. I'm waiting for the right time to get even.

Bummers,

Here they took apart a century old hydroelectric generator that was sort of a historic spot in our valley. All so got such big balls that along the freeways they cut and pull the copper wire for the overhead electric lights.

Part of my job is theft prevention...catch meth heads almost every day. They are soulless, foul people who have serious addictions that no one seems to be able to treat or deal with.
I'm pretty much a Libertarian, but I think a few chopped off hands and lifetime restitution would go a long ways toward stopping this kind of crap...

ive been doing a lil junking and cleaning up around the place here since ive become disabled and it helps to make some extra cash...i worked construction for years and always picked up "shorts" we called them...the clipping and ends of wires the electricians had left behind on new construction sites...plus old wire from a few rentals trailers we had destroyed by tornadoes and fires..

anyways i took in a few buckets of burnt off copper wire from over the past 10 or so years...scrap price has went up so much over the last few years, it was better than money in the bank...the price was way more than i expected it to be for 2 buckets of junk...but they had a 3 day wait on the check...when i asked why the wait on the copper part? they told me it was because of theft...said most meth heads wont wait the 3 days and wont bring it in cuz they need the quick fix...i was ok with the wait as i wasnt in a big hurry and it was a good payday too!

Castro, unfortunately the only way to really stop this is just killing them, those are sorry no good bastards that need to be took out of society. But, you might look into a video security cameras. You can buy them pretty cheap. Hope that was a random attack and they won't be back. Replace he plumbing with Pex or cpvc, and spen the real money on your still  Good luck buddy

That SUCKS! I HATE THIEVES!!!! I too live off the beaten path. 2 suggestions.

#1 - my grandfather told me years ago... Thieves arent worried about alarms, or cameras! They fear the 4 legged alarm!
thats why i breed dobermans, 4 on site. if im not home & your brave enough to come in the fence? you'll leave in an
ambulance or as parts that didnt get ate, in body bag!

#2 - when you find them.... take both hands that stole your setup & stomp the shit out of them breaking every bone in the
hands. so every time they want to eat, pick there nose, brush there teeth, wipe there ass for the next 6 weeks.....
they think of you! THEY WILL NEVER STEAL AGAIN! :esurprised:
