Cleaning up spirits

Post by stillvodka »

Hello,

Is it OK to mix activated carbon directly in the container with your spirits?
and just swearle it around leave it for awhile and filter it through to remove any carbon dust that maybe left

Why i ask is that ive found that there seem to be so many methods of doing the polishing up of spirits, some people don't even bother.

Thanks

Some people make spirits that don't NEED polishing. Turbo yeasts almost always need polishing.

Just tossing the carbon in there and letting it "swirl" around then settle out is how water treatment plants make potable water, so yes...thats perfectly fine. However I would be sure and swirl it around several times a day and leave it for a few days.
Light travels faster than sound. That is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Thanks for that info,

I know now that i have been doing it the right way, the stuff i have made has been OK to me, although some of it has had a whiskey sort of taste, down to being turbo wash i recon.
