I replaced my Laptop screen

Post by mash rookie »

And it works. Go figure. My fingers are way to big and eyes too bad for those little tiny screws. When turning on my laptop the other morning the screen was a mess. WTF? I had no clue. Using my PC I Googled it and learned that it was a cracked screen. One of the links was to a youtube “How to”. Okay, I will have a look. That looks easy. I found one online and ordered it overnight. I am usually smart enough to take my stuff to the shop so I don’t screw something up.

I got away with one this time. Whew

I always attempt to fix things myself too..... It usually ends up costing me more to have it fixed after that..... I havent learned yet. And I always bitch about the folks that try to fix there car, and screw it up worse, before bringing it to me. Go figger.

How is the car business going for you MK? I remember when you said you were opening up. Fixing things for me is a good excuse for buying tools, and if I learn how to do something, get the tools to do it, the satisfaction, then its worth paying 2-3x what it would of cost. The old teach a man to fish routine works best for me. I think its funny too MR cuz I have seen your work with tools. To think that you were a bit scared on this one makes me chuckle. I guess computers are not made out of copper tho.

I am known for being able to build or fix almost anything. I have a shop that allows me to fabricate almost anything. Not fear SB. Knowing your limitations is important. Electronics are not something I screw with. Its usually cheaper, easier and way smarter to pay the experts. Particularly with computers. I was a mechanic as a kid, owned a 425 hp bracket car and built several engines. I pay mechanics now. Guys like MK are golden. The only engines I work on are the small block 350 chevy engines in my boat. Besides, who has time for everything? Pick your battles.

True dat. My weed whip wouldn't start the other day. It was the hardest thing to bring it in, but I did. They rebuilt the carb and put a spark plug in. $25 bucks. Totally worth it.

Shop is doing great. Defiantly worth the move

My wife and kids cracked my iPad screen a couple of months ago. I've been debating buying the kit and fixing it myself or shipping it out. I'm fairly certain I'm gonna let the pro's handle this one.

I had to use a magnifying glass with the laptop. I cant imagine working on something even smaller. I think that is why they use child labor oversaes. Small fingers. Good eyes. Dont eat much.
