My son and I left home last night and made way for the hallowed waters of Pelican lake in Pequot Lakes Minnesota. We each caught a walleye this morning, after my son cleaned the fish we went jet skiing and now we're just about ready to go back out on the pontoon. Ofcource we will have a few of our favorite bourbons and or file along for the ride. I am savoring this weekend as my son is just one year from graduating from college. Oh, I know its not the end but its gonna be different. But tonight we're gonna eat like kings and drink like fish, knowing that tomorrow there will be no hangovers.
good on you, yes enjoy it I have seen my son once since he moved toLA ( the state) a year ago, it was a short visit but it was great to have him around again!
Sounds great, I spent yesterday out on the bay with my son and friends crabbing then came home to a surf & turf dinner with crab and flank steaks on the BBQ.
It is beautiful up here, when I was a little boy my parents had a place just north of Nisswa. I've loved it ever since.
Surf n turf, ohhhh man! That's even better than walleye! Guess i'll just have to make due. And I will try to leave some walleye for the rest of ya. Maybe.
Everyone should experience the boundary waters at least once in their life. Took the boy out trollin for northerns last weekend and of course he caught the most and the biggest. Still hearing about that everyday....
My brother is heading to bountry waters next week for a canoe trip they have been planin for acouple years now, he bowed out of our yearly fishin trip to Ontario, we leave Wed and come back to the states the following Fri., as say we lets go friskin, it is the high lite of my summer!
I have a awesome bottle of AG I am taking and some good cigars, what is better, good booze, good tobaco, and awesome fresh walleye cooked on shore with family!
Boundary Waters, that's a great idea. My son made that suggestion just yesterday. I will have to try to recruit a couple of my buddies with experience as neither of us has ever been.
This weekend is almost over, we'll take one more ride on the pontoon and listen to the loons and then pack up and head home. It was a great trip.
