Hey all!
Brand spankin new to the site and of course overwhelmed by information. I've been diving into the book Making Gin & Vokda and find the information in there great. I'm also planning on reading the information on the homedistiller site as well, but had a question.
In MG&V, the "easiest" method of obtaining a boiler for a reflux fractioning still (off-set head design) is to purchase a point of use electric water heater. According to the book, it's very common to find a ~7 gallon heater with a 3000W, 240V heater. By plugging this into the wall at 120V, it will 1/4 the voltage giving you the desired 750W heater. Has anyone been able to actually find one of these? The closest I've found is http://www.lowes.com/pd_27000-1136-GL6_ ... facetInfo=, but it's a 1500W 120V heater.
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to getting into this hobby.
