Chemical Copper Patina
I have been trying to research if I use a chemical patina to art up the copper on my still a little if there are any negative affect. I.e. will it release some nasty gas when using the still? will the high temperature of the still undo the chemical patina or something? Does anyone know or have info about this?

Re: Chemical Copper Patina
Looks like this "green patina" is just an ammonium solution" so when react with copper it can create copper oxide (black) or copper dioxid (blue-green) salts. Both are moderately toxic. And they can cause skeen irritation. But fortunately they are not evaporate. So if it will not leak inside column and you will not lick the column
it can be considered relatively safe.
