Winter supply of whiskey aging away,

Post by fatman »

Getting a little bit of stuff to let age awhile. one of the sept 19, bottles keeps disapearing? Having trouble keeping the flavored stuff around, my kids and son in law like it too much. I have peppermint schnapps, jolly rancher infused vodka, grape, apple, cherry, watermellon, some times Yeager!!!

Looks like fun. Do you add sugar to the jolly rancher infusions or just leave it mostly dry? I too have enough 192 to last till spring and beyond.

I am just starting on a series of UJSSM as I am down to just a couple of bottles as I haven't really run any quantity since April...I did run a couple of crabapple washes and one black berry schnapps this summer, but need to get the stock up for the winter and spring.

No sugar added to the jolly ranchers, it takes at least one candy per ounce of alcohol, or a few more if you want more flavor, and 60 proof makes better shots than say using 80-90 proof.

Extract and sugar is probably cheaper, but the jolly ranchers are idiot proof so im good with it for now!

Wanting to try the cinnamon jollys too but haven't done it just yet. maybe the next sugar run i can remember to get some cinna jollys?

Did you dissolve the candy in hot water before adding? Or did you just put the candy in and let it do its thing? That looks fun. Maybe apple and cinnamon

i just put the candies in the jars and toped them of with my grain, cut to about 60 proof.

I just gave up on the candy desolving. So I heated up some distilled water and melted the candy and used that water to cut the 96% down to 35%. Made green apple and cherry. 2 750 bottles. May have to try one tonight to see how it is. Thanks for the idea!

I was cooking a 12-13 gallon batch of mash every weekend untill over time picked up. i was doing the sour mash thing but had to let it go and i was just at 3rd generation. My flavored stuff disappears fast when the son in laws and son are around.
