Hi all. I was wondering is there a proper way to clean my copper condenser or does it not need cleaned? I run it about 2-3 times a week and just wanted to know how and if it needs cleaned.

i rinse mine with hot clean water and thats job done

unless it pukes or something then maybe scrub it out

Part of the answer will depend on what sort of condenser it is. For example on some of the versions of Harrys design you can take off the endcaps to run a bore cleaning brush down the coolant tubes. If it is a basic liebig I suppose you could do the same with the vapour path. Do you think you need to clean it for some reason?

No I was just wondering if they are to be cleaned that's all.

I spray mine with water before and after use, first to get any dust or "stuff" out and second to get any leftover alcohol or puke out. That should be enough. If you are storing it where it might freeze then make sure it's dry before you store it, if not you can just stand it up so the water drips out. Should be fine.

Clean it like you do the rest of your still.

I rinse the whole still with the hottest water I can.
