Rebel Yell

Post by laughing waters »

I understand that Rebel Yell isn't a very highly regarded whiskey however I really like it. I appreciate it's mildness and uncomplicated flavor, just wish it where a bit more smooth. What are the flavors in it that turn people off to this whiskey. I am a fairly new to whiskey but over the summer have developed a love for it and will be purchasing the Hillbilly Stills 3 inch pot still head, I already have the keg and connectors, as well as the burner. Was set to buy it at the end of the week but see the sale price of 209 has ended, so maybe will have to wait another two weeks. Anyway I have sampled many whiskey's over the summer and bought the Rebel Yell out of curiosity only to find I really enjoy it, almost more so than the more expensive whiskeys I've been drinking. Anyway please post your comments on this whiskey, I'd like to know what you think.

Thanks.

I have enjoyed Rebel Yell for a few years. I found it to be quite tasty, and reasonably priced. :sarcasm:

It's pretty good, especially if you can get it for less than $10. Another good one in that price range is Benchmark. Personally, the only store-bought whiskey I really love to drink is George Dickel. They still do a separate stripping and spirit run on all their product, unlike most "modern" operations. The distillery is small, so their overhead is low, and the whiskey is very well priced.
