My own TV show

Post by Bohunk »

Well, I’ve finally made it to TV. The state public television station here in Nebraska has done a story on me and my operation. It won’t be a moonshiner show like the one currently being shown, just me making vodka. Any one living in or near Nebraska – tune in to NET on Sunday night the 13th. I have no idea what the show will be about, but we shot over ten hours of video over a two week period. Shot at three different location, and had a lot of fun. I might be the only member of this site that can talk publicly about what I do. I will link the U-tube video later, if anyone would care to see an old fool make an ass of himself, it will be available later.

I would like to see anything about your show on u-tube. I won't be able to see the show on air but am looking forward to seeing it on u-tube.
Last nite i was able to catch a localy produced show about the history of brewing and distillerys in utah back from the 1800's, way back in the very old days. There was info about different citys and taverns and streets lined with taverns. And then came prohibition and changes to the mormon church.
The show started with the first legal distillery since prohibition(modern) then talking about winerys, and brew pubs and getting laws changed in the state to better serve bussiness and profit.
I will lookup the title of the show, it aired on a pbs station or a local one, did not pay much attention.
I will look it up latter and get back with you. thanks a lot

That's awesome Bohunk, give us a link when you can, you know we'd love it!
Numerous 57L kegs, some propane, one 220v electric with stilldragon controller. Keggle for all-Grain, two pot still tops for whisky, a 3" reflux with deflag for vodka. Coming up, a 4" perf plate column. Life is short, make whisky and drag race!

Are you a professional/commercial distiller? If not, your hobby days might be over. Either way congrats.

Congrats on the show (from the other side of the river). Here's a link to the episode your talking about... It mentions vodka  "Brew pubs, wineries and now Nebraska made vodka" and maybe that's you in the picture?

Good stuff. I will be sure to have a view. If they have 10 hours of vid, I am sure they can find a few spots where you look good :ewink: Nice to see you getting some recognition. Hope it helps to get some additional people asking at their local liquor store about 'where is this NE made Chase Vodka?', so that it gets more shelf space.

He is. He owns 'Coopers Chase' distillery here in NE. Their current product is Chase Vodka.

Lunabrille, that's not me in the picture, but that is me talking, - you know the one with the Bill Clinton Voice.
Husker, I don't think any amount of TV could make me look good. My mom used to say "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear." My friends have started calling me TICKLE, I'm not sure if it's cause I'm that ugly, or that stupid. And by the way did you change your e-mail address, I didn't get an answer the last time I sent you a note. Larry, your staying nice and warm down there, while us up here on the frozen tundra are freezing our behinds off, but that too will come to pass, you have spring and summer to deal with.

Thanks Bohunk,

I'm 60 miles north east of you on the other side of the river. I find myself down around your neck of the woods quite often, do you offer tours of your distillery to HD members? ;)

Very nice showing, bohunk! Was a very good survey of the process, and certainly hosted in a very positive light!

Well guys the old fart in the show is me, the guy doing all the talking is my partner, he is a partner only in name. I wasn’t going to post the address of the TV show, because it turned out to be a big farce. We shot video for ten hours, and this is what they decided to put on the show, my partner has no function in the company except to strut around telling every one he is the PRESIDENT. He has never made alcohol, or has any idea how it is done. Nothing but a big mouth. I built the bottle filler, the capping machine, and all the equipment in the shop, sorry you didn’t get a chance to see any of it.
