First post here, believe me i've looked and looked for the answer to this question with no luck. First run with my newly constructed pot still with an added thumper. I ran once without the thumper, but i liked the idea of raising the proof with just one run, so i added a thumper. Everything was going ok and when my boiler started to boil (i could hear it bubbling in the thumper) i turned my propane heater down to a low flame like i did on my first run without a thumper. The thumper kept on bubbling so i knew the boiler temp was ok but it wasn't heating up very fast. Anyways, i got impatient after a while and turned up my heat and very soon the thumper started dancing and liquid started a small stream out of the condenser coil, then i turned the heat back down and continued ok. Should i have turned my heat up after it started to bubble up in the thumper or just waited on it to heat up at the incoming temp from the boiler? After i got finished, i wondered if by turning the heat up higher i was boiling more water into the thumper by doing that.
Hope this makes sense to you
