Hello guys I'm new to the site and new to distilling I made my first bash of sugar shine out of my new 8 gallon still, the flavor of the shine turned out as expected pretty good but room for improvement, I have one question though and that's is what's the best way to flavor it now that it is done distilling. Ive been distilling for 3 month but this is my first sugar shine and while I've prided my self on trial and error I don't wanna ruin my shine with an off flavor.. I kno some use oak chips or a barrel but I was thinking more along the Lines of fresh fruits or cranberries..if anyone can give me some pointers I would really appreciate it...
Thank you very much

Fresh pinapple is pretty good. cut it into chunks, put it in a jar & top it off with some strongish nutural. Maybe 60% or so. After a week or three, drain it off the fruit. It's real good mixed with tonic. The chunks make a nice garnish/shot also. I try not to let them go to waste. They have a lot of booze in them.
Anything i do or say here is purely hypothetical and for information gathering and sharing purposes only.

Pineapple never crossed my mind so I'm excited to see how that goes thanks. It's really nice to see how other people are doing things and being able to learn from that simple knowledge and make something truely delicious.. I will surly let yens kno how it turns out thanks

I had an ole timer tell me to get a bag of Jolly Ranchers. Separate them into whatever fruit catagories you get outta that bag. Drop 4 or 5 into a quart jar at 55 abv. Add the appropriate fresh fruit. Wait a couple of weeks. I did this with every flavor in the bag. Some better than others but all very good. I'm partial to the lemonade. This works while waitin' for the oak batches to mature. Just sayin'...

Thanks I don't no how I missed the 26 pages on panty dropper but that did answer some of my questions and I am currently making a strawberry cranberry blueberry and raspberry panty dropper I made all as a sample run to see what one I would like the best to start mass production of that flavor, lol when I say mass production I mean a gallon at a time lol.. The jolly ranchers are gonna have to wait for now but i need to learn more about the oak barrels because it seems that's the way alot of people go, do u put. Sugar shine in the barrel or what kind of whiskey?

Try fermenting UJSSM and research using and making your own toasted and charred white oak. You can buy them online as well but they can get pricey.
