dont know if the on off pulsating would be good or not thats kinda why the hotplates arent good because they cycle on and off the way that reads thats what this controller does not sure if it would act the same or not

Thank you. Out of the thousands of members was just curious if it might have been referenced beforehand or if someone has tried. Wasn't looking for a fight. My reply wasn't sarcastic. I apologize if you seen it that way. Just always makes me laugh when a question is responded to with a question or by someone else with no knowledge of a subject even if just trying to help. The model #515 info says that it is has solid state output. From looking around on the internet, I think that it is a triac based build, as the #315 model is described as a "without-triac" type.
It's only good for 1500w @ 115vac.

No mention of price for the units on their site, but saw them listed on guardiancatalog.com for:

My opinion? .....if you can't find one on sale for less than $50, it's not worth looking at. You would be much better off with a Harbor Freight router speed controller for $20 with a cheap heatsink added.

Looks like a router speed controller. Just packaged different as a temp controller. For that price you could buy 6 harbor freight router speed controllers.

There are probably still new ones out there on a shelf somewhere, they just don't make them anymore. But the cost is just too unreasonable.

What gauge wire do you use for a setup like this? I've got everything apart from that side if things!

I've got 12 gauge for all the internal wiring but I only have 10amp wiring and plugs laying around home for use! Or is the supply coming straight out of the fuse box?

Them are the parts I ordered, I see some guys adding a fuse. Some add a resistor. I understand a fuse but why the resistor.

Depends on what voltage and amperage you are going to run?

110V 1500w 15 amp. Minimum I would use is 12 ga. Inside and out. For runs 15 foot or less.
220v minimum I would use is 10ga. Inside and out.

The resistor is to fine tune the pot. Basically. Added for different reasons. But if you get the correct pot for the pssr and or voltage you have. It shouldn't be needed.

Im in Australia do my voltage is 220-240volts. The element is 4800watts so it looks like I'd need 10ga wire then! What sort of plug do you put on the end?

Over here I can only find 30amp plugs which is for 3 phase power which I don't have at my house, this part is really stumping me!
