Roasted Pecans

A week ago, I roasted some pecans in the shell, in the oven for about 45 minutes. I added 5 of the pecans to my corn whiskey 1 ltr. It starting getting dark rather fast. I let it sit overnight it got really dark. But the final taste I was impressed, my wife liked it as well. I'm not sure if anyone has done this, I didn't see anything, just thought I'd throw it out here for everyone.

did you only allow it to sit over night before removing the pecans? How did it taste?

did you crack them open or just whole shell on?
