Guys, I need some help. I've just wound what is a fine coil for my Bokakob. It's about 1 13/16ths dia. double helix. We did a fairly good job it looks great.
One problem. I can't get the salt out. I've dropped it in boiling water, I've heated with heat gun and butane torch... I'm at a loss. I used 1/4" copper refrigeration tubing. I have also attempted to use 100psi from my compressor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
One more thing. I've discovered that argon sheilding with mig welds stainless beautiful with .030 stainless wire. The wire isn't cheap, but it works and if you have a mig welder, you're in there for welding couplers into kegs for electric converson of your boiler. I was sure I was going to have to pay someone to tig this.

Re: Salty coil help
hook it up to your pump and put it in a container and turn the pump on and leave it may take a while sometimes overnight but it will eventually break it out and water will go all over ( thus putting it in a container) just for future reference easiest way ive seen it done is McIndy used a piece of weedeater string put it in tube then filled with salt then wrapped when done you can work the string and it will empty the salt

I had the same issue. i tried damn near everything but it seemed to eventually loosen up with the water pressure trick.

Thanks much... I'm going to plumb it onto a water hose this morning. I tried the palm sander trick already, but I'd already boiled and heated the bugger.mystakilla wrote:I had the same issue. i tried damn near everything but it seemed to eventually loosen up with the water pressure trick.

I was cautiously optimistic about this, but I hooked up the water with 5/16" hose and a some other plumbing and turned it on. It slow dripped for about an hour and a half, I came out and checked it and popped it a few times with a piece of wood. It dripped a bit faster. I left it alone and came back 10 minutes later and it was spewing. Thanks much!mystakilla wrote:I had the same issue. i tried damn near everything but it seemed to eventually loosen up with the water pressure trick.
