Moonshine music makers....

Post by BoomTown »

One thing about this hobby that I've always found fascinating is the music that surrounds the folklore.

Being a guitar picker  , I wondering if anyone else shares this interest, and would like to kick off a topic discussing where we might find a sharing of the songs (lyrics and music) that have carried the mystic and built the lore....

I've a few pieces I'll share if anyone is interested, starting with the "Roll Me Over", a great collection of old English and Irish ballads (from Oak Publications, New York), some of which are about the hobby, and "50 Great Irish Drinking Songs, by Robert Gogan (ISBN 0-9532068-4-X). I've been very interested in finding sources for American folks and Old Time music, but less successful.

Hopefully, where every you are, you'll have a few tunes or tune books you know of. If so, I'd like to know about them....

:D
