Alright. This is happening. Thought I'd start a post and post images and updates, and more importantly receive advise from those who have come before me.

I got ahold of an old army coffee maker. And I've got a 5500 watt 220 volt adjustable heating unit off eBay. So that's where I'm at. I have one question, looking at the tri clamp ferrules i see the 4" has an od of 4.0000" and the only copper pipe that will work with that is 4" DWV. I had figured on using thicker grade copper, the I'd of 4" DWV being 4.009" which is crazy tight and ill likely sand the stainless fitting down a bit. Any thoughts?
