No, no, that is ok, but to really get rid of a bad hangover, you need a pleasent girlfriend or wife to make you some good chiken soup, and let you lay on your favorite couch for the rest of the afternoon, that is the real cure!.

you're absolutely right.UselessPete wrote:Preperation before hand is the key
Try taking some 'milk thistle' before your night out (or night in!!)
Then 2 pints of water before bed
You'll feel good the next day
But if you 'forget' that the info is very helpfull.
For example my worst (or best

And snacking on salty foods (to help retain fluids).USarmy21 wrote:one thing that always got rid and prevented hang overs for me is gatoraid or lots of water
If i forget any of the tricks to prevent a hangover, I will usually eat bacon(lots of it) first thing in the morning, then after my first blowout episode, I will eat fritos chips and drink dr.pepper for the rest of the morning.
Watch the golf channel through my eyelids helps too.

It was interesting to see how many of the suggestions that I have come up with on my own. It was also interesting to see how many rules for not having a hang over that I have violated. Which brings up a good topic, What were you drinking/doing to get your worst hangover? (Forgive me if this is highjacking a thread). My worst hang over, (and drunk), was light years ago when I was breaking up with a girl friend. I saw her off and then proceeded to drink a pint of Mad Dog 20/20 while washing it down with a pitcher of draft beer. The only thing that pulled me through was the hope that i might die. LOL

I like gatorade myself, because it's so refreshing and cleans that booze taste out of your mouth as well, but if there's none around I just drink plenty of water.
I rarely have hangovers but did I ever have one this Sunday! Drinking strong liquor drinks all night and then going home with a girl, I missed out on consuming almost any water during the evening as well as my usual bedtime water chug, and also didn't get to sleep much
Triple threat hangover combo!
My favorite hangover morning food is to devastate a plate of bacon or sausages! Baked sausages are great since I don't have to cook em, just throw them in the toaster oven while I drink water or juice, cranberry is a pretty good morning juice.
Worst hangover hands down was one night in first year university when I failed a calculus course and proceeded to down a full 26er of rum, straight up from the bottle, in under an hour. I barfed all night and felt awful for 3 days afterwards

According to the bar receipt I found in my pocket the following morning, my worst hang over was due to 21 absolute vodkas on the rocks over the course of the evening. I was told the next day that I was trying to get quarters for the pool table by inserting dollar bills into a cigarette machine.....I don't smoke.

1L of pre-mixed 21% Baccardi Rum Island Iced Tea gave me a splitting hangover eventhough I drank at least 1.5L of water before I went to bed and another L when I woke up.
The next day, 500ml of homemade Vodka 50%, and 375ml of homemade Ammaretto 25% left me feeling fine eventhough I only drank about 16oz of water.
Total alcohol for first night: 210ml. Drank lots of water. Felt like crap.
Total alcohol for second night: 343ml. Drank very little water. Felt fine.
Now I know why this hobby is so appealing.

I have had similar experience to jbrew but it was JD vs. homemade sourmash.
The secret is I controll my own cuts, but JD is made in a dry county, and they have no regard for how my head feels the day after consumption.
Bacon and eggs the next morning with some fruit seems to help me...after reading the article, I see this is not just the placebo effect.
