I remember reading somewhere that it's possible to age whiskey faster if it is put under pressure & forced into the oak. Wondering if putting charred oak staves in a bottle and using a fizz keeper to add a bit of pressure could help eg http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1257330641" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Not sure if it would be enough pressure to make a difference, but maybe?
Age faster with pressure and charred oak?

I think it's faster when cycled between high pressure and atmospheric. That way it pulls the liquor in and out of the wood. But i may be wrong.
You can't think of the impossible, because it's impossible. Ergo if you can think it, its possible.

Re: Age faster with pressure and charred oak?
I added a bike tube valve to a bottle cap, seems to work nicely.
I only added 10psi as I'm concerned how much pressure the bottle could withstand. Might have to find a stronger bottle, might need to use a Coke bottle or similar, not sure what effect storing the spirit in plastic may have though.
Only stronger bottle I can think of is champaign, but they don't have a screw cap.

Use a corney keg with co2 and do five gallons at a time. Easy to add and take pressure away. This aids in oaking not aging!
