Experiments in progress
Here is my experiments I have going. All are made from sweet feed. From left to right--- cherry , jd chips and maple. I just started the JD chips (first time using chips) I'm going to give the cherry and maple a taste test in June. I know it looks like theres a lot of wood in the jars from the pic's but there really isn't. I shoot for about 15 sq. inches per jar seems to work good for me. sorry the pic is small

Re: Experiments in progress
I did a cherry one a while back, it didnt turn out well in terms of flavour
but the colour was golden and the cherries made the likker like velvet on the tongue (amazing), didnt get much cherry flavour though
maple sounds interesting, keep us in the loop

Re: Experiments in progress
Da Yooper gotta ask as in like second week of deer camp? I've been working on a step fermentation using a sweet feed sour mash ferment, and DADY. Preliminaries are looking pretty good with low temps and low SG's.
Everything's better home made, everything!!

Melloman, I have seen Da Yoopers play( great show). Da Yoopers tourist trap is a must see if you are ever in the area. And to answer your question- yes like the second week of deer camp. Deer season is a actually a holiday for most around here. 2 weeks at camp-priceless.Melloman wrote:Da Yooper gotta ask as in like second week of deer camp?
