Windows is pretty much the standard OS for most of the world, and that includes me. In fact, many OS users claim to be invulnerable to viruses because almost all viruses are written with Windows in mind.

Whoops, didn't mean to leave it out. (I guess using a Mac with X11 I would be a FreeBSD user too).
Windows, but my next pc probably will not be windows.
There is no need to choose just one, most of my computers are dual boot so I can run any OS. I don't think Apple will ever sell OS X without a Mac, but there are hack sites to get OS X to run on any PC - I haven't tried this yet myself.
On my intel iMac, I run Parallels which lets me run OSX, Windows and Linux all at the same time.
I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left.

I's have to disagree, South America is all about the macs, and almost my whole university runs on macs too. They still lack alot of the technical software available for PC's (autoCAD etc.) but that is changing, has changed a lot since I got my mac 5 years ago.
Don't take life too seriously -- you'll never get out of it alive.
