I TiVo'd Whisky Roads from Speed a little while back.

Just got around to watching it. It's primarily about Junior Johnson. Apparently his family's still was the largest moonshine bust in NC history. The TV show reported it as a 20,000 gallon still. I have to believe that was fermenters and not the actual still but DAMN, that is one big setup.

Apparently Junior got pinched after he had "retired" to car racing full-time. He was home visiting family and went to fire-up the still before dawn to get the smoke down by first light. The revenuers had the still staked out and nabbed him.

Interesting show.

I find it hard to believe that someone could have a 20,000 gallon still hid from anyone. A still that big would be a county landmark.

From the pictures it was underground and looked like a whole line of old boilers. Pretty damn impressive even though they had very little good footage.
