help with board settings

Post by bronzdragon »

Other web boards I visit give some sort of notification of the threads that have been replied to since I last visited. When I visit this board, I not only have to log in once, but twice because it never works the first time. And I have to visually go through by date and time to see if any of the threads have been added to.

After I have been logged on, if a thread is replied to, the little icon will change color properly ... but only while I'm logged on.

Any clues on what I'm doing wrong?

this problem is a frequenter. The link from the parent site is broken, so to say. The correct URL should be: http://homedistiller.org/forum/index.php Bookmark it, if you can.

I had this problem a while ago and using this link fixed it.

Are you using a bookmark to access the forum? If so, is it this one http://homedistiller.org/forum/index.php, I've had the same dramas as you've described, changing bookmarks worked for me.

edit : Damn.....too slow in posting :D

Apparently not, because the link still useshttp://homedistiller.org/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow and it demands a login. I've saved it before using both links, and this link still shares the aforementioned problem.

/forum/ works when the link is followed from the forum, but not from the parent site.

Interesting. :?

I'm using Opera, and get in from the parent site, i usually leave my browser open all the time, but notice i get kicked out a lot. Have ticked the box to always stay logged in, works on other sites, but must be a cookie prob here as i always have to log in. Only once though and all the functions work.

Feel for ya B/D, it's a pain if someone has refreshed here at home and i have to squint through, always worried there's something you missed too

Pain to be ruled by the net, at least i don't watch telly....
