Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

Junkroom

Post by grainhopper »

This looks like its fast becoming what I thought it would. A junkroom of post for newbies. Dont get me wrong. I'm not trying to be negative but it wont be long and newbies will not read whats in here.

well...being a newbie....Im in here everyday and I read every post...I think every thread in here so far has pertinent information for me... :)

And getting answers from the veterans makes it all worth it...

Doesn't seem like a junkroom so far to me ...but that's my 2 cents....

cheers..... :D

one time there was a sticky "newbie faq." this will probably work better.

Maybe this didnt come off like I meant. If its kept neat and clean and join threads that are common or the same then it will be a good thing but I see post.

Example: There is two similar post about 1st runs. they should really be combined. ther is 2 more as well.

This is what I mean. before there will be pages and pages on top of pages of this and this is where newbies are overwelmed when it comes to reading this site.

This was not meant to be a slam on newbies or old folk just observation. :D

I agree with grainhopper, moderators can make a selection of what should stay and what shouldn't. and a decent sticky-topic with the purpose of this forum (novice distillers) would make a difference too.

Being a born-again newbie (I was distilling 3 years ago, but forgot most of
my methods, I really appreciate this forum. It is almost guaranteed to
become somewhat "cluttered" due to it's nature.

I'll be the first in the thread to THANK everyone who helps us newbies! Keep
up the good work and we'll be veteran's soon!
