How much displacement is 1KG of sugar?

I'm not sure if anyone else is not using metered carboy's but I'm using a
rubbermaid storage container that isn't marked with measurements. I
guess I could have made my own, but can't at the moment.
I'm using bird watcher's recipe. I see recipes for 80L washes and I'm
wondering if they are 80L of water plus the ingredients or a total of 80L.
What I mean is:
is it this?
80L water + Sugar + tomato + lemon = wash volume
or is it
80L = Sugar + Water + tomato + lemon?
If is is the latter, 80L total, then how much volume do I count on for the
liquefied sugar. Is melted/liquefied sugar 1L per KG or something? What's
the conversion for this?
