Tomato paste and or Yeast Nutrient

Post by Hardcider »

Ok...I've read and read and I still dont quite understand. Is the tomato paste suppose to be a replacement for yeast nutrient or an addition to the yeast nutrient? Please help me out!

From the Parent site: http://homedistiller.org/sugar/wash-sugar/nutrient" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Tomato paste is added to provide nutrients for the yeast, as well as to lower the pH somewhat (yeast prefer a specific range of acidic enviroments). Other appropriate sources of acidity and nutrients accomplish the same thing, listed in the link above.
I buy all my liquor at the hardware store.

I agree, So if you have trouble with stalled ferments due to low PH, nutrients of some sort would be the way to go.

Nutrients and pH are two separate issues.
