Hello all, I live in Ohio and we had a couple days of very cold weather ( single digits) and My Uncle Jessie's just finished fermenting 3 days ago ( 3- 5 gallon batches) I usually let them clear by sitting them in my garage ( not heated but insulated doors) and I didn't think about temps till today. I shot a temp with my temp gun and they are reading 28F, did I kill my EC-1118 yeast?
How low can it take? One more day of single digit temps is coming. Plan to cook on Saturday and start up again. Thanks in advance

you would only be clarifying if finished fermenting anyway....no worries
as a side note, as long as it doesn't freeze the yeast shouldn't be damaged, just sleeping

You should be fine. Cold crashing homebrew for clarifying the beer is supposed to be done as close to freezing as possible for several days without actually freezing the beer (which could break your carboy). Even after racking off the settled yeast though there are enough viable cells left still suspended to carbonate the bottles.
I buy all my liquor at the hardware store.
