Turbo yeast not so bad for whiskey?
I started distilling using alcotec 48 hour and would get a good flavored whiskey ... And I agree if you are making wine then that turbo is not for you . When I smell my mash it has a funky odor but when it's distilled it has the same taste as my distillers yeast which takes about 9 days! So Mabey I just got bad distillers yeast? What have you guys figured out about this?

The hardest item to add to a bottle of shine is patience!

I thought distillers yeast was only supposed to take around 5 days for like 10% abc but I'm not getting that even

It takes as long as it takes, many variables play into how long a wash or mash take to finish. recipe, yeast, nutes, temp,ect...

Re: Turbo yeast not so bad for whiskey?
I tried out the Alcotec48 a bit back....I dint care for it even a little bit. Smelled so dang bad I dint even taste, I just ran it thru again. Second distillin cleaned it up a lot odorwise....but it'd still bite your tongue off. Lesson learned an I went back to bakin yeast. Yep, it takes a spell to work....but I know what I'm getting. Patience cant be substituted in this man....let it do what it does till it's through workin off. If your racin go carts the turbo is the way to go. If you want glass of liquid love on a cold night just go with good ole baker's yeast.
Patience....the early bird get's the worm, but the second rat get's the cheese.
