Hi, I'm cleaning out a used anheuser Busch 15.5 gal beer keg (humanely purchased) and this little purple gasket is inside, do I new to remove this and if so how? It's pretty stuck in there, im sure I could pry it out with a little elbow grease but I'm afraid of the glue that may be left.

Thanks all

Did you remove the lock ring and keg spear? Or are you talking about the gasket on the spear? Could you post a picture?

It's the purple guy, it's firmly attached to the keg. Sorry I forgot to add the picture on the original post :P

I would remove it and clean it up with some scotch Brite or sand paper, I wouldn't want that coming in contact with my vapor.

As you managed to remove the spear already, there should be no lockingring down there.
So just pry it out with a screwdriver.
It's important you get it all out, so it has to come out of the top, instead of just hammering it into the keg.

hi all, just to update should anyone care. turns out the gasket was stuck on by gross junk. Once I soaked the keg in PBW the gasket popped right out.
