maske, hide, neutralize fermentation odor

if a sour mash is fermenting in a 5-6 gallon glass carboy with a airlock of any kind will the oder be strong ?
say 3-4 carboys in a warm corner of my finished basement in a 200+ square foot room ?

i've read up on it and my understanding is its not that strong or an offensive oder.
if you were to place a balloon, condom, bag, rubber glove over the airlock or even as the air lock could that carbon dioxide just be discarded outside every 12-24 hours or so taking the oder with it ?

or if you use a blow off hose into some liquid does that in any way filter out the oder ?

or say i got my 3-4 carboys and attach a 3-4 way hose to the airlocks that leads outside would the carbon dioxide along with the oder just travel threw the hose outside ? or would cold winter air manage its way back in threw the hose freezing the yeast ?
