One piece Valve and flow meter

Post by shadylane »

I might be using 2 of these in the future to measure and control the cooling water on a build I'm working on.
I don't know how many liters per minute the condensers need yet, so I'll have to use the old valves until I can take some measurements.
They come in several sizes and cost $20 - $25 each kinda expensive but you get a valve and flow meter in one piece. Don't know what style valve they use, hope it's a needle valve. http://www.amazon.com/Thread-0-05-0-5GP ... flow+meter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

It looks like it's a globe valve, not as good as a needle valve for the reflux condenser but maybe close enough.
Maybe have a really small needle valve in parallel with it for fine adjustments.

Stopwatch and a bucket till ya have the rough flow nailed down to order the correct item, Shady.

If your coolant temp is steady then repeatable flow rates might be a great idea.

Let us know how it works out for you, Sir.

I think a pair of these mounted on a panel would look good.
Now I'm having DejaVu, better go search my old posts and see if I haven't thought of this before.

There's a thread on Aussie Distiller named "Blond bubbler complete" by blond.chap that has a flow meter like that but it's 1 gpm. He uses a needle valve with it. There's a nice video, too. You should find the thread easily but if not let me know and I'll find it.

I don't think Amazon has the 1 gpm with the valve but they do have one without the valve for like $18.

Different flow rate meters. Same make / type. Good luck, Shady.
