Free read old distilling book

Post by shadylane »

Found this free online book from 1907. I haven't read it all yet. I'm still stuck on the malting section.
Noticed there's a section on using steam to cook corn that matches what we have been doing. The bastard's must have been reading our posts.

Great resource, thanks for posting.
From the chapter on potatoes:
"Yeasts cultivated in potato mashes are characterized by great germinative power."

I like this book...

Page 316 Cleaning your still

basically... fill with cold water and drain. Spray a gallon mixture of kerosene and alcohol in it. LIGHT IT! and the crud will be loose...
