printable labels

Hi people - I would like to know if anyone knows of anywhere where you could go to print up a label. I know of this page -

but I was wondering if there are any others, especially for the liquor quik essences. I tried a search a while ago and couldn't come up with anything. Are there any others ?

There's a page in the wiki with some labels from here.

The best thing, i reckon, is to lift some pictures from the net, open up photoshop and go to it.

Then just contact a print shop to print them for you. Or print them y'self

Just gave my printer a bottle of UJSM this morning, she was extremely happy.

Make some of your own up! It's easy to make simple ones, then I use cheap glut to get them on the bottles. The glue they use in preschool here, washes of even once it's dry. There is another topic somewhere with hame made labels if you want some ideas.

You can pick up "Lable Factory" or some such software at Best Buy for about $20 and print your own labels. Avery label stock is a common brand. The type I use prints 6 labels per sheet. The glossy, waterproof paper works best since it doesn't run if you get it damp.

The easiest way to label bottles is with milk (if using "common" paper for the label). To do this, simply "paint" a little milk on the back of the label, apply the label, and set the bottle aside. When the label dries, it will be stuck on good. NOTE that if the bottle does get wet, the label will float pretty easily, but for spirits you do not take in and out of the freezer, they usually do not get wet. Not sure where I picked up this trick from, but it works like a charm.

I have tried the milk but it never seemed to work for me. My labels all were only half attached and came off too easily for my liking. The glue is usually only a dollar a bottle (if that) and worked better for me. Maybe my milk just sucks....

hmmm, I always thought milk got sucked, but that may just be me

Seriously, I do this to round 750ml bottles (very generic shape, like old saloon whiskey bottles). The labels stick like glue after dry, and never come loose for me. The only issue I have, is if you use cheap ink jet (or even color lasers), too much liquid will cause the ink to bleed a little. Also, like I mentioned, if the bottles sweat from freeze thaw (keeping a bottle of vodka in the freezer), then the labels will (or can) slip.

If you try to do this on a bottle that is not round and smooth, then yes, it might form a poor adhesion. Also, my milk is 1%. It could be that whole milk has too much fat in it, and may cause the label to stick less. That part I have not investigated, as the wife will only by 1%

My bottles are used wine bottles nice generic round shape too, my milk is 2% though...Maybe thats the difference? But yeah I had to be real careful using milk cause my ink would run. The glue solved that problem too...

you could also try the small glossy photo labels with the self adhesive backing just print peel and stick ..
