Before I finished my pot still I started thinking about my next still. I'm slowly getting parts, before I get too far in I wanted to get your opinions. I'm trying to build a modular coolant management still to imitate commercial goose neck whiskey stills. Basically 3" column, no plates, just a adjustable deplag then condenser. Everything held together with tri clamps. This way I can add plates and go full on flute later on if I decide to go down that route.
Keg boiler design still in progress (=<2500W). Column will be 3" copper, first section 24" tall. Next 6" section with 2" sight so I can monitor reflux from deflag.
Dephlegmator will be about 8" with 3 x 1" tubes, running off the shotgun condenser. I'm going to have 4 valves on the dehplag so I can control water level / how much reflux I get. Whiskey still so I want minimal reflux..
12" x 2" Shotgun condenser (5 x 1/2" tubes ?) to parrot
What do you think?
