Motorcycles
This is my baby....currently off the road but soon to be altered and reborn! Gonna take off the seat and replace with a pan, change the bars and might change the forks or the rake.... It's a 1983 Yamaha virago xv750. Got as a gift to me after leaving a sketchy job for a bill of $1200. She moves pretty good....got the ticket to prove it....

Re: Motorcycles
Where to begin.. Built my first mini bike when I was 8 from an old lawnmower engine that i rebuilt in the garage with my step dads tools, that I wasn't allowed to touch but he never used them so..
That got me started and now mid 40's been riding my whole life now. Daily rider is an 05 Vstrom 1K with 165,000 miles give or take a few.. Speedo stopped working couple yrs ago, it's essentially a rat bike now with the strongest motor of any bike I've ever owned. Change the oil, replace sprockets and tires and it just goes and goes and goes. Best bike ever owned.
Have two 99 Yamaha R1's, one built with ohlins and motor work and a parts bike. That is my baby. Total track monster and squid hunter.
Long list of past bikes, all street oriented till moved here in 99 and got the backcountry sport bike drag knee at 130mph canyon itch. Filmed it all and made videos of it for 5 years. Great times.

Re: Motorcycles
Excellent Pesty! Got a utube channel? Pm me! I got started when a buddy gave me a frame from a 73 Yamaha 100 enduro....I hacked it up and put a 6.5 horse h-shaft on iwith a centrifugal clutch on it. Did 38 mph top end....had a blast on that!.... I had just got the virago and decided to take it for a "test". No helmet, licence, insurance, and did not even have it in my name.....got busted dead to rights doing 80 in a 30....on top of the other charges I was looking at about ten grand and jailtime....cop was also a rider so he let me go with a stern finger waggin and a $350 fine for riding without the proper licence....hit some hard times and never got it on the road. That was three years ago and now I'm working on getting it back to life.. gotta change the coils and that damned starter gear. ( those who have experienced a virago xv will understand).

Got a channel but don't use it much, have the website still. http://www.ridebehindvideos.com/videos.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Need to move all the vids to tube but the conversion to tube just kills the quality.

Re: Motorcycles
I had a few different dirt bikes growing up. Currently have a 1991 Honda VFR750. Great all-around bike. I also have a 2004 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado. SWMBO will actually ride on that one, so it gets most of the attention these days.

love the dragracing circuit.
I was helping me ole fella when he was competing, he was on a prostockbike.
Really good weekends they were, but he had to retire as it's a really expensive hobby.

Re: Motorcycles
Fat tire fat tank Honda 50cc as a youngster then 80cc then 125 then nothing for a really long time then I rebuilt a 79 Suzuki gs1000l. Totaled a buddies bike due to a woman on a phone and give him mine as he didn't have insurance and the woman never stopped because she didn't make contact I guess. I slid over a hundred yards in dew wet grass the bike went thirty and caught a light pole. Sure miss mine...

Alky makes a lot of HP but not a lot of torque. Sometimes (most) you have to launch very hard to get up on the slick. Lots of vibration if not set up right.
