Storing & Sealing??

Since the topic I asked this in was locked before I got much of an answer I will ask in a new topic.
Question--I know plastic as a rule is taboo but I also know a lot of ppl store their likker in mason jars...The lids on the mason jars I have seen have a thin orange colored rubber seal and what looks to be a thin coat of plastic on the inside..Is this acceptable for storage of say 80% abv or is there some other way to seal mason jars for storage?What other methods are used aside from oak barrels...Maybe wine bottles with corks?Thx.
