Opinions please

Post by Copper pot »

I,m going to build a three element hotplate with the elements arranged in a clover leaf pattern.each element is 240 volt 1500 watt.i would like to run them each independent because right now I.m using a single 1000 watt element which takes 2.5 hours to get to temp. I like it because with the infinite heat switch on high their is no fluctuations in tank temp and product flows at an nice even rate.my idea is to use three elements to get to temp and then either shut two off or turn all three down ,the element will start to cycle on and off but at different time cycles producing even heat.
I know that was a bit long winded but I would like to explore all the possibilities before investing in a doomed project.
All input would be greatly appreciated
Tank capacity is 26 litres

Three elements can be configured in various combinations of parallel and series to get 500W, 750W, 1500W, 2250W, 3000W and 4500W. This should eliminate your need for simmerstats.

Two elements would give you 750W, 1500W and 3000W.
