Anyone ever had Four Roses bourbon? my old man told me that's the only bourbon my great grandfather would drink. I think they only sell it in KY in the US..i think it sells in Japan and Euro--can anyone confirm about the sell only in KY? Also, what does a 750ml of one of these bottles cost? Gonna try and pick up a bottle sometime? I kindda wanna make some good bourbon in the future and wanna have some good products to compare it to
I know..i know..if ya wanna try a good product, make it yourself, but i want to compare mine to some good stuff and until further notice I haven't been able to try anyone's products here (which i'd really like to get my hands on).
Until then I will compare my future stuff to the best commercial stuff I can find/afford...one day----one day I will prevail and surpass the commercial stuff like many here

yeh
Four Roses is a very good bourbon. I believe it was used mainly as a mixer for one of the big bourbon companies for a while but I may be mistaken on that. It's not easy to get ahold of but very good liquor stores sometimes carry it.

I was at the Four Roses Distillery in Kentucky last summer...they are part of the "Bourbon Trail". (I recommend a short vacation down there....I'm only 4 hours away from Bardstown). It's a beautiful facility, and I thought the tour was one of the best I went on.
Four Roses makes several very good bourbons with different mashbills. It's true that they primarily export their produce. They do distribute in Kentucky and in New York, however.
At one time (years ago) Four Roses was a cheap blend with a bad reputation. Now the company is trying to get the public to recognize that its whiskey is far different that before. Their bourbon is excellent.
Hmmm... since I go to Kentucky once or twice a week to eat, I need to pick up a bottle.

Thanks guys for all the help. I've looking for a bottle for about 5 years....hadn't been able to make it to KY or NY...been halfway 'round the world but hadn't had a chance to walk into a liquor store elsewhere and find it. Thanks though--I will keep my hunt on with a knowledge now!

I have seen 4-roses sold on ebay, even though they have a no booze rule, I have seen it.
It is funny, cause some of the 4-roses I have seen sold there (in the states), was brought back from japan. Thus, they exported from KY to japan, someone bought it, and brought it back to the US. That is some well traveled spirit.
