Inactive -but not ungrateful

Post by Tideliner »

Sorry I appear to be so Inactive.

Just got an email saying due to my inactivity here, I may be in danger of account deletion. That would be tragic! :(

Unfortunately, I've been working 12 hr days, 7 days a week -due to overly optimistic scheduling with my BC hardwood flooring business. However... when I do get home, I carefully measure a couple of shots of high quality, high-test vodka to add to grapefruit juice and ice. -Mighty fine beverages. Even the wife brags on the results.

If I had more time, I'd be logging in a lot more frequently ...with all your help, I've built a very pretty and productive reflux still, and followed some damn good recipes.

Normally when running a batch, my determining factor is... if it doesn't burn, it's not worth drinking. I wonder at what percent does alcohol burns at...? My amateur guess is about 50-70%. My hydrometer just sinks. Must be for beer/wine only.

Soon I should be smartening up and have more time for living.

Thanks Again for all your help! :D

Nah not in danger of deletion. I sent the mail out to find out folks whose emails bounce. So if you got the message, you're not in any danger of being deleted.

Well, that's good to know. I got the email too and was a little concerned. I like this place and have learned A LOT here, but as I've gotten into this hobby I've found I don't have to ask as many dumb questions and can do what I do with a confidence I would never have gotten if it hadn't been for the great folks and huge amount of information found here.

My thanks and I hope this site and the writings of the great folks who have contributed to it live forever.

well I weeded out about 150-200 inactive accounts. Most had bouncing emails and hadn't logged in for at yeast 2 years. A handful of folks mailed me and said "go ahead and remove my account" as well.

Same goes for me. There is so much info that I don't have to ask. I hope all is well in your distilling land! It is fine here, spring has sprung and i am just waiting for my fruit harvest. I am too cheap to buy from the store.
I am on my 3rd. ferment since last Fall, Been fermenting an oat, sugar, pear wash. Last week it realy tasted like an oat whiskey, so good i've had a few beggers, but i'm trying to age my product and learn the fine points of that issue.
Will talk more in other fourms, see ya!!!

Hey Uncle Jesse:
I didn't get an e-mail (probably blocked) so it seems I got removed. I re-registered under a different name, as when I tried to log in, my user name and password were not recognized. Any way I can get back into the loop with my old user name? I may not post often, but I lurk daily. Thanks. Billy Joe Jim Bob

Hi,

I also got the email, and was a little worried as I am still busily learning and reading, not posting.

I just wanted to add my thanks for this wonderful site, and all the time taken by the many wonderful experienced distillers to part with their knowledge.

bye
