Stainless or copper?

Post by fafrd »

Newbie planning my first keg-based pot still with a question regarding tower build.

I understand the advantages of using copper and plan to use copper for the Liebig.

I also have seen examples of stainless TC tubing used for assemble of reflux still tower and understand that copper scrubbers within the tower can be used to complement the lack of copper in the tubing.

My question is whether copper scrubbers can be used within a pot-still tower, allowing stainless tubing to be used to construct the tower?

Said another way, will the presence of scrubbers in the tower screw up the function of a pot still?

Thanks for any pointers to where I can learn more.
