spirits change flaver???

yall ive got a good ?litle but good .spirits that tasted mmm great very neuteral flaver smooth,then got it home after a qouple of days i sampled some .it took on a might say harsh taste .any one every experianced that ?

stuff with a lot of ethyl acetate in it (sweet heads) will often taste a little nicer very fresh than it will after a few days... it settles and something evaporates or changes that gives it a sort of unopened rooms smell.

also when i first dilute i sometimes get an off smell for a bit until it settles.

Nope, I've never experienced that.

I've only seen booze get better and smoother with time.

Did ya possibly put it in a dirty or contaminated container?

no this is 2nd gal done like that . is ther a way to help the taste ?maybe carbon .like in a fish tank kind .. if the heads were strong in it would nt it give a bab hangover . i let a freid have a taste that pidles with maken spirits . he liked it said thats the way its posed to be ...(but when he runs his he doesnt seperate ant part of it .starts an finishes all then split s .guess to make a LONG ? short can i help the taste or just tuff it out

HOLY CRAP!!! If I could understand one tiny bit of your jumble, I might have a suggestion or two for ya. Maybe you should lay off the spirits while your typing.

@Moutainman, yes putting the spirit on carbon for a while will definitely help the taste but please do not use "fish tank carbon". Its made form crap you don't want your spirits soaking in like, dead fish. Heads aren't going to give you the hangover it will be the tail end that will. If you had heads in the product it would have a sweet taste to it and would not really taste "neutral" at all. Alcohol will absorb flavour form many things and if the like theholymacheral said if you put the spirit in a dirty bottle you may of picked up the bad taste from there. It was a glass bottle right?
I might also add that if you do decide to use carbon make certain that you filter out all the carbon dust form the spirit. Running it once through a coffee filter will not do it even though the product may look clear. You will need to pass it many many times through till the filters come out clean. The tiny carbon dust will still hold the smell and taste of what you are tring to get ride of so your efforts will be useless unless you remove them.

Dang MtnBoy....you are a funny un......Why not just filter it through kitty litter ? You could save $ by using the old stuff from the box, if you pick it pretty good...
